Even simpeler leven bij Hannah and Will

Ontdek New Barn farm in Bedfordshire, Carlton. De bestemming voor dierenliefhebbers, je kunt hier paarden verzorgen en er is een mini dierentuin. De gastfamilie is Will en Hannah Tongue samen met hun kinderen Evie, Harry en Fergus. Je tenthuisje staat aan de rand van de boerderij op een veld van wel zes hectare groot met uitzicht op de grazende dieren.

Stad en land

Bezoek het mooie Oxford en Cambridge of ga racen op het circuit in Towcester of Silverstone. Dichter bij liggen de stadjes Olney of Carlton.De heuvels van de Ouse Vallei zijn heel geschikt voor off road fiets- en wandelroutes voor de hele familie. Ook kun je vanuit de boerderij heerlijk wandelen in het natuurgebied de Blackwell Hole of een van de andere natuurparken in de omgeving.

Dit doe je op de boerderij

Er lopen hier heel veel dieren in het rond, een varken, drie boerderijhonden, schapen, dwerggeiten, ezels, eenden en kippen. Met geluk kun je ook dassen, vossen, uilen, spechten en kleine muntjak herten zien. Verken het bos, bouw een hut, wandel over de paden, neem wat lekkers mee en ga picknicken. Als de avond valt haal je verse ingrediënten uit het boerderijwinkeltje en kook je op het houtvuur. Of ga gezellig barbecueën voordat je moe maar voldaan in je comfy bed stort.

It was great. My only gripe was the shop not being very well stocked with any fresh produce / it said on the welcome email they’re well stocked try not to use supermarkets, however, the only fresh meat everyday was bacon. We wanted to bbq some sausages on our first night and didn’t bring much with us due to the email. However, there were only frozen available and we had them the next day but they weren’t great tasted a bit sour and dry. Would’ve loved ANY option of fresh fruit and fresh meat as opposed to frozen. The next time we come we’ll have to bring supermarket produce with us to feed the kids, the first night we all just had to eat beans 😂

It was our second stay at a Featherdown Farm and our first time at New Barn - it managed to be even better than our first trip! This time we went with friends who are not keen on camping so we had to do some convincing that this was certainly not like traditional camping! We all loved the space of the tent, the comfy beds, cooking facilities, the overall Interior and the hot en-suite shower! However, what made it even better was the hospitality and welcome of our hosts: Hannah and Will. Hannah was great at getting in touch before our visit so we could book in for the added extras such as ‘Pony grooming’ and ‘Guinea pig hire’. Once we arrived, they were fantastic at being on-hand to explain how things worked, and cooking us all great pizza at the communal area, which was a great chance to find out about other hidden gems of the camp, like the fantastic rope swing in the woods.It was all the little extras that made this a wonderful stay. The children loved the freedom of space to play, the animals and the surrounding landscape. It’s also close proximity to two nice pubs! We would love to return - thanks Hannah and Will.

Two moms and two 4 year old girls stayed for 4 nights. We absolutely loved it..! It was great experience for all of us. Hannah and Will are very friendly and everything was well organized. Their pizza was 10/10 ..!! Easy to find the way and tent was cosy and nice. No electricity is not an issue at all. We enjoyed our slow days and highly recommend to drive around their neighborhood as well. Whole village is just beautiful!!

We had a lovely time with our 3 year old granddaughter, she had a chicken and guinea pig to look after, we went end September and the evening was very cold. Unfortunately there was no pizza night which meant we went to the local Pub for dinner but overall a great experience

Well managed and good fun, particularly taking suitcases etc down to the tents. Everything was clear and the pizza night was great. There was lots to do for my girls ncluding guinea pigs and go carts and some walking maps.

This was our second Featherdown stay and our first at New Barn. Such an easy set up- all the best bits of camping - camp fires, candle light, country walks but with enough home comforts that you all get a good night of sleep!

Very good and would highly recommend it. Hannah and Will are great hosts and the farm itself is great for children. Their pizza night was great and the pizzas were delicious! The downside of our experience was that not all the animals listed on the site were there when we visited. Also, I highly recommend putting signs up on areas with electric fences. My 4 year old daughter touched an electrical fence whilst admiring a little pony and that was not a great experience for her or for us. There were no signs indicating the electrical fence. Overall we had a great time and would definitely return.

We had a great time at New Barn Farm. The farm is great fun for the kids: picking chicken eggs, cuddling guinea pigs, feeding pigs and grooming ponies… The hosts offer a super fun pizza night and a brilliant farm tour on the back of a tractor. The tent had everything we needed and we loved not having electricity for a few days.

Het was een heerlijk weekend. De kinderen hebben zich heerlijk vermaakt met alle dieren op de boerderij. Ze mochten de kippen uit hun hok halen en er zelf weer in doen aan het einde van de dag. We hebben meerdere wandelingen gemaakt vanaf de boerderij in de mooie omgeving. Het eten ( pizza en lasagne) en winkeltje waren helemaal top.

Absolutely brilliant. Our hosts Hannah and Will went above and beyond for us. The farm was amazing with loads to do for everyone. My children especially loved the pony grooming and pizza night. Everything was really nicely laid out with easy access to walking and cycling paths. Lots to do near by in the local area as well.

Fabulous fun on the farm! Delicious homemade food and pizzas, brilliant honesty shop, great swing, karts and bikes to play, and too many animals to count!! The kids roamed free and we all had a chilled week outside. One of the best Featherdowns - thank you Hannah and Will!
