An amazing break from the hustle of everyday life. The owners Richard and Wendy were incredibly welcoming making all of us (adults, kids and our dog) feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. If you want a relaxing break that gives you quality time with your family Moor Farm is a must!
We stayed for 7 nights and had a fantastic chilled out holiday, great farm experience. The hosts Richard and Wendy were really friendly and accommodating, not what I expected from the usual grumpy farmers I know! Richard’s farm tour was fun and really educational, very interesting to listen to him talking about the history of the farm and the farming practices he employs. As I was travelling as a solo adult with kids, I enjoyed the time Richard spent chatting over a glass of the farms pear cider! Our tent had everything we needed and we used the honesty shop every day.
The kids (11 & 3) loved it, playing in the woods on the rope swing and tractor, seeing the farm animals and helping feed them, riding in the trailer on the farm tour, the swimming pool, the barn full of kids ride on trikes and toys and just chilling out and playing bat and ball on the field.
The location has a great mix of feeling like you are in the middle of no where but actually being on the edge of a city.
We were lucky to have sunshine for 6 of our 7 days and the West facing position of the tent made for some amazing sunsets.
I am just looking to book to return next year!
We had a fantastic time; our family had three 'tents' and were together for the first time in nearly four years; it was very special
Freshly back from a lovely 7 days at Moor Farm. We went as a family of 4, girls of 9 and 14, and our little dog Indy. The instructions on how to find the farm were really simple and made the farm easy to find. On arrival we were met by the farms 2 lovely dogs Paddy and Albie and then by Richard the farmer who took us up to our tent. We stayed in Woodpecker and this was the first time we’ve had a shower and everything was fantastic. Our positioning was such that we had an amazing view of the farm and were right next to the wood with a rope swing and other bits for the kids. The farm is lovely and our youngest really enjoyed the freedom of going in with the animals, especially the ponies which she helped feed with Wendy on a number of nights. We took a few trips to the canals, a lovely walk and also had dinner at The Ship which was really nice. Further afield we took a trip to Stroud which was pleasant and to Eastington farm shop which had amazing cakes. In truth we go to feather down farms to relax and this was such a lovely setting that we were often just on site with a book.We used the swimming pool twice and it was great to have it to yourself, we did meet friends too and the kids all swam together. Pizza night is also a must. What made the stay extra special was Richard and Wendy who were just the most amazing hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and they were so great with our kids. You always felt they were pleased to spend time with you and happy to chat and answer any questions to make sure you had a lovely time. The sunsets were the best I’ve ever personally seen and I think this is a farm that we’ll revisit at some point down the roadIf you’re reading this, thank you again Richard and Wendy for a lovely weekLee, Clare, Mara, May and Indy
brilliant stay and a lovely experience
L’accueil de la famille de fermiers en particulier.
Heavenly under the stars
Amazing, this is our 5th time doing Featherdown and this was the best !
Another fantastic Featherdown holiday. One of the best farms we have been to
What a fantastic family holiday.
Moor farm is where it is at made extra special by farmer Richard and wife Wendy. Perfect escape if you want a safe space for the kids to play in the open fields. Really enjoyed the farm tour with our little one getting to ride the tractor. Afterwards the family took time to let us try their own brewed cider which was really lovely of them - the cider was great too! Everything you need is available from their honesty shop and they even provide a service of fresh bread and crossiants each morning delivered to your tent! You have slimbridge wetlands close by with over 100 species of bird onsite including flamingos! Loads of pubs and a beauitful canal with cafe all close by. Ill definately be going back to Moor Farm!
A beautiful farm with excellent facilities maintained by gracious hosts.

A lovely farm thoroughly recommend it.
Richard and Wendy were excellent hosts, we had a really relaxing time and it was an enjoyable experience. We will be back 🐐🐐
Stripped back to basics and literally, a breath of fresh air.
Idyllic weekend with superb hosts
Amazing - Richard and Wendy were perfect hosts, very accommodating. The farm tour and pizza making made the experience! The only downside was the amount of spiders but that can’t be helped…I’m just not a fan of them!
Blown my glamping expectations
Lovely farm and farm owner. Good location, nice wildlife, plenty owls!
Absolutely wonderful. Such a chance to reconnect as a family and switch off.
Another fantastic Featherdown holiday. We all enjoyed the farm tour, the pizza evening and getting to know Richard the owner. We had some great trips out (walks, go karting, crazy golf & surfing) and our teenagers still love the outdoor space and the whole Glamping experience.
This is our 4th visit to a Featherdown Farm and as usual it did not disappoint. Richard and Wendy were wonderful hosts. Their Pizza Evening and Richard's farm tour are a must and was a highlight of our trip.
We were so lucky with the weather but the location and the whole experience was so fun to be able to share as a family.
A great place to unwind and spend quality time with family.
A fantastic 4 nights away. Super host family.
Simply amazing. The location was perfect and Richard and his family were perfect and so friendly and relaxed. The farm was beautiful and the tour was interesting and interactive. Couldn’t ask for a better stay.
Fun stay at Moor Farm, wonderful space, facilities amazing and we never noticed the rain!
We had the most amazing weekend celebrating my 40th birthday with friends staying in the other tents. The sun shone, we walked, swam and finished with a BBQ under the stars accompanied by Richard's cider. It was magical.
Full of happy memories
Moor Farm is definitely our favourite! Both Richard and Wendy make us feel so welcome and their hospitality is why we’ve come back again. Everyone loved their stay and the chance to meet all the animals up close and personal, not forgetting the stunning scenery from our tents. Highly recommend the farm!
A fantastic holiday. Richard and Wendy are amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The children loved seeing and feeding all the animals. We will definitely be back.
Glamping is the ideal recipe to disconnect from the madness of working from home, reconnect as a family and spend a wonderful weekend in the middle of the beautiful English countryside, hosted by wonderful people such as Richard and his wife and their family!
