Idyllic, especially with a family of teenagers
A relaxing holiday with lots of quality family time.

Superb welcome from the team, stunning accommodation in a tranquil setting. The hot tub was a real treat!
Relaxing fun and great time spent with the family
Vey good experience! Over my expectations.
Quiet, and relaxing lovely weekend away. The hosts was very welcoming and just left us too it
Fantastic way to switch off and reconnect with the family
Phil was a fantastic host and made us very welcome. I would suggest getting the hot tub started as soon as you arrive - it takes a long time to heat up! Definitely make a visit to the Historic Working Farm - great for kids, and the Ludlow Farm shop for great food.
The peace & quite was brilliant. We completely shut ourselves off from the outside world unless traveling to local towns.
Hosts were amazing. Phil makes sure you are ready for the "back to basics" experience and leaves you alone unless really needed, great hosts.
Plus side. no electric, (12-volt battery for lights) no WIFI, No TV, made the trip so peaceful and relaxing. To see dear, rabbits, hear the woodpeckers was just amazing.
Negative-If you like going to the pub, 2 miles to nearest one but we stocked up on Gin & tonic so that wasn't really an issue for us.
Loved the hot tub, but please paddle a couple of times when warming it up. Takes about 3 hours initially but then about 20 minutes subsequent times. It gets very hot, keep an eye on it. Great addition...
Wooden stove is lush. fire it up for the cooking...really easy.
Lock yourself away from the rat race for the most relaxing time.
Fantastic site in the woods, very relaxing and great tents and facilities. The hosts were extremely helpful and have done a great job in keeping the tents and site in fantastic condition. The tents are nicely spaced and very private but close enough if you are in a group. A visit to the Acton Scott farm is a must, the hosts have negotiated free entry for Featherdown guests and it is a great day out and the cafe is also excellent.
Absolutely amazing and brilliant for our wellbeing !
A wonderful romantic getaway in a lovely peaceful forest setting. Accommodation cosey and hosts extremely helpful yet not intrusive to our stay. I'd recommend this place as a weekend away for couples who just want some peace and quiet ?
An enjoyable secluded forest retreat (only 4 tents), almost back to nature with a few home comforts - (hot showers through a bucket). Very friendly and helpful hosts.
Warm welcome and clean tidy tent. Site not as nice as other we have stayed at as no view and dark due to woodland location. Unfortunately there were dried blood stains on some of the linen but standard of cleanliness excellent otherwise. Shame not to have a chicken coop and the 'shop' was not well stocked, limited kindling, ice blocks.
Overall a lovely weekend but won't be rushing back as location in the wood wasn't for us!
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend break, even the rain could not put a dampener on our holiday as we had everything to hand and all the comfort and space we needed for our large group. Thank you for a lovely stay!
Back to simpler living
We had a fantastic stay at Acton Scott. It was lovely to have some time away and an opportunity to switch off from it all. Our boys had an amazing time playing in the woods, in the hot tub and helping feed and care for the animals at the farm. Mark was a great host and nothing was too much trouble. We cannot recommend it highly enough.
A relaxing break in the wilderness! All the fun of camping, but all the luxuries to make it much more comfortable. A really well equipped lodge, which we all thoroughly enjoyed.
Excellent Weekend Away
Enjoyable escape to the countryside, not too far from home but we could have been anywhere in the secluded woodland.
Great! The whole family really enjoyed it. Very helpful and friendly. Very happy
Peaceful location, nicely presented.
Fantastic - great fun, an adventure !
A perfect weekend away from it all, particularly good for groups. The hot tubs were brilliant, a real hit with the kids!
Perfection, peaceful, total relaxation in beautiful surroundsings super friendly staff excellent facilities
Enchanting. Lovely location for a very relaxing break.
Great few days away
We had a great time, our only complaint would be that this site has no view and very little sun. It's great for kids that want to play in woods making dens but in the rain it can become a bit dank.
A definite step awa from everyday life! Our 2nd Featherdown experience - this one more like a forest experience with a farm nearby. Appreciated all the wood that was available, and the electric lights were not expected, but actually very useful. Great standard of interiors and equipment etc. Our well behaved Labrador also had a fantastic weekend!
Great experience, the kids loved it exspecially the hot tub!
Enjoyed getting back to a simpler way of living, more in touch with nature and less in touch with electricity and devices :)!
Rustic luxury camping in woodlands that kids of all ages (even the 50 year old one) really enjoyed.
Great fun in the great outdoors! My son wanted to stay for the rest of the year!
Unfortunately the shower didn't work and we were unable to get hold of the farmer to sort it out. Shame he wasn't more proactive and thorough in checking everything was OK. It just needed a new gas bottle, but with no evidence of him and no phone reception on site we had to manage without. A disappointing aspect to what was otherwise an excellent break.
We loved our lodge in the woods. And the hot tub was good even in the rain.
Fabulous experience, every last detail had been thought of, when can we come back!
